I am often asked by coaches and athletic directors, ‘how do officials get better’? I always reply with; ‘we ask the officials to attend camp each summer to improve on their craft’. This especially important for our officials with 1 to 3 years of experience because need to focus on the review of rules, mechanics, signals and professionalism.

We are really fortunate to have a camp here in Colorado just for you and your peers that is run by IAABO. Those officials that have attended an IAABO camp will tell you it was well worth the time and effort.

The Colorado IAABO School will be held at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado on June 8th, 9th, and 10th.

You can expect to receive quality instruction in the classroom and on the court. You will receive instant feedback, including video, which can be incorporated into your next game.  Both Crew of Two and Crew of three officiating are taught at the IAABO Schools.

The cost of the school is only $200.00 and officials can register through the IAABO web site  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime or you can contact Bob Lantzy IAABO at or call 719-660-5290.  Also don’t forget that Denver Area 8more than likely can help with the cost of the camp with a scholarship. For more information on scholarship go to:

I hope to see you there.
